Two traveller, V.Rejs and A.Shtubel, played a large role in research of a northeast part of continent, forms themselves a link between those who worked mainly in Peru, and those who has selected arena of the activity Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. Interests both laid in the field of geology and ethnography, but they have given very many for understanding of physical geography of the areas studied by them. Having begun in 1868 from the extreme north of Colombia, they have proceeded across Magdalena and further to Kito and have started regular studying of mountain chains both in Colombia, and in Ecuador. They have been occupied by work of this till 1874 then have visited Peru. They have made a valuable card of Ecuador. The card of Ecuador was made also by geologist T.Volf who has travelled the country on the instructions of the government.
