Northeast afrika after 1889

By 1889 many parts of Northeast Africa remained still almost absolutely unknown. However within last thirty years in this area there was a set of travel and though not all white stains on its card are liquidated, the general structure of a relief was designated absolutely clearly.

In 1891 Italians have made some travel across Somalia. Captain Baudi-di-Vesme has passed in depth of the country from Berbera and has reached river Uebbe headwaters, but its shootings have been confiscated also results of work, thus, are lost. Robekki has crossed northern part of Somali peninsula. Leaving from Mogadishu, it has reached the territory visited to it in 1885 by Jams and Ejlmerom. The same year Dandas has made swimming on the river „Pzhuba throughout 650 km.

The Further research of the river Juba has been made in 1892 - 1893 Bottego. It already investigated a part of Eritrea, and now has visited area of the Somalch-Gaul and the first has thrown light on hydrography of this area. In 1895 it has returned on an average watercourse of Juba and therefrom has gone on the West, to Rudolf's lake, and after that again left to Mombasa at coast. Bottego fixed watercourse Omo, has established, that it is the same river which other researchers named the river Njam-Njam, investigated the western coast of lake of Rudolf and has defined the general lines of the river Sobat. It has opened also new lake to which has entitled ' Queen Margarita '.
