The most picturesque figure of this transition period is Ren Kaje. It accompanied expedition Heating in 1818, and in 1824 has lodged at Senegalese Negroes on purpose to study their language. Three years later it left Sierra Leone, has reached Niger and has proceeded on it to landing stage of Timbuktu-Kabary. From here it has entered a mysterious city of Timbuktu, has familiarised itself that it itself(himself) represents, and has passed through all Sahara to Morocco, leaving on coast to the West from Fes. It has received the award of the Parisian geographical society based in 1821 for this travel.
The Problem of Niger already approached the permission. It has been established, that river sources were somewhere near to the Atlantic coast; the watercourse to Bussy also was approximately known, and the area to the east from Sokoto has been well studied. The place of a confluence of the river has been established in 1830 by Richard Lenderom and his brother. They have gone to a way from Guinean coast and overland have reached Bussy. Therefrom they have floated downwards across Niger to the sea and that time has for ever finished disputes on a place of its confluence. Lender has received the award of just based London geographical society which have absorbed earlier based African association. Travel Lendera, thus, closes itself the whole chapter in history of geographical opening.
