    you are: Southern amerika

While there was a such detailed studying of separate parts of Cordilleras, across the South America were undertaken both larger and long travel. The big research work in the South America was spent to 1826-1833 by the French zoologist and the ethnographer d! Orbini, gone round Southern Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Patagonia and area to the West from Cordilleras. It was the first scientist of a new epoch of the researches, studied areas on the river La Plata and crossed very little known area to the south from this river. The same years (1827-1832) Peppig worked in not studied areas in the west. He has visited Chile and from Santiago has gone to Lima, - where has started the major part of the work. Having passed chrez Cordilleras, it has reached the rivers of Huallaga, one of verhovev Amazon, and has gone down to its delta.

During the same period other two transcontinental travel have been made. In 1827 Mou (May) has gone from Lima to Trujillo, whence has made transition (partially on foot) through the Peruvian Andes, left to the river Kachijako and after many adventures has reached to Santarema. Seven years from Lima have acted later.lejtenant Smajt and F.Lou. Their travel has been undertaken in hope to establish, that beginning from landing stage Majro on Pachitee this last river will appear navigable before its merge to Ucayali and that on last and across Amazon it is possible to adjust the convenient message between Peru and Atlantic ocean. Expedition has not achieved the purpose, as has not managed to reach to Majro.

' Our way laid,-wrote Smajt, - from Kasapi, being approximately in forty miles from Uanko, downwards across Huallaga to mouth CHipurany; upwards on this last river and on JAnajaku, while it was possible to float on a canoe; then on a putting piece pampy to Santa-Kataliny; and further on the river of the same name to Ucayali... And then downwards across Ucayali to Maranona and on it to Steam '.
