The most initiative figure of the Missurijsky fur company, Fox continued to be engaged in this favourable craft as early as more many years, refusing at the same time to accept in structure of the company of any strangers from the east. The group sent by a pas the next year back under the command of Stewart, has returned on the rivers Snakes and Northern Platte to Saint Louis, having used, perhaps, southern pass to mountains. The basic part of expedition thus at least has laid one more new way from a valley Mississipi to a mouth of Colombia.
