In the meantime the second big step on a way to the permission of a problem of Nile has been made. The London geographical society has approved Burton's project and formulated the task handed over to it as follows:

Having found out in this area all that is necessary for you, you should go further on the north, to a ridge, in which mountains as it is designated on our cards, a beret, apparently the beginning the river [Nile]. It is your second large problem... Further, you can return at sole discretion or having gone down downwards across Nile... Or that by which you have come, or any another-depending on of those means what you during that moment will have '.
