Research of Guiana and adjoining areas has renewed in 1872 and proceeded before the end of the century. But already and till 1872 something about the general geographical structure of this area became known as a result of long-term work in east Venezuela botany and zoologist Appuna (1849-1868). Those shootings what were made here since 1868 by Brown and thanks to which riddles of many rivers of the British Guiana have been solved had Great value. Works Montole (1872), SHaffanzhona (1884-1891) and Stradellj (1888) in pool of Orinoco have shed some light a question on sources of this river. Montole investigated the river Iniridu, Stradelli-Vichadu, both-in limits of Colombia whereas SHaffanzhon has made some expeditions to upper courses Kaury and Orinoco. Many the geographical facts concerning these few known area, have come to light as a result of work of the commissions on demarcation of borders: between Brazil and Venezuela (1880 1882) And between Venezuela and the British Guiana (published in 1897 results of the work) and thanks to travel Hjubnera to areas of the Top Orinoco and Branko (1895).
Work SHomburgka already mentioned by us and Brown in the British Guiana has been added during this period by many other things travellers. By desire to make an ascension on mountain Roraima have been involved here Bodhem-Uethem (1878), Uajtli (1883) and to It-turn (1884), and last has given to a science a lot of rather valuable material on natural history and ethnography. It has brought the big contribution to geography of the western part of the British Guiana, and the research of the rivers, including Kujuni and Mazaruni, has continued geodetic work of travellers-pioneers.
As to the Dutch Guiana here Cimmerman in 1877 and the Prize in 1879 have established the most part of a current of the rivers Surinams and Saramakka. More also works of geologist Martin and ethnographer Katya indirectly promoted a close acquaintance with country geography. In 1901 large expedition under the command of major L. Bakhejsa investigated a part of internal area, having done especially valuable work on the river Kopename.
